Conformance status

We design and test this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard most accessibility laws and courts point to. Our own testing finds no known failures on our pages, but automated tools can’t catch everything and we haven’t yet had an independent audit, so we describe the site as working toward full conformance rather than claiming it.

What we’ve built in

Eight things you can count on across the site.

  • Keyboard

Every menu, button, form and filter works from a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. A “Skip to content” link comes first, and Escape closes menus and photo views.

  • Headings and landmarks

One main heading per page, sections in order, and labelled navigation, so screen readers can jump around.

  • Images

Photos of our work have written descriptions. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

  • Color and contrast

Text and controls are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios. Color is never the only way information is shown.

  • Zoom and text size

Pages reflow from wide desktop screens down to small phones without sideways scrolling, and pinch-to-zoom is never disabled.

  • Motion

If your device asks for reduced motion, reveals and hover animations are turned off. Nothing flashes, and nothing plays on its own.

  • Forms

Every field has a visible label. Required fields and errors are announced in text, not by color alone.

  • Plain language

Short sentences, real words, and the phone number on every page.

Known limitations

Where we rely on other companies, or haven’t finished the job.

  • Google Maps embed

The map on our contact page is provided by Google and isn’t fully accessible. Our address, hours and directions links are given in text beside it.

  • Online flag store

store.rosecityawning.com runs on Shopify. We don’t control its code; call us to order any flag by phone instead.

  • Photo uploads

Our estimate forms ask you to email photos rather than upload them. If emailing is hard, call and describe the project; we can come out and look.

How we test
